Background
Growing up in the Midwest’s smallmouth fishing country, Tim Holschlag spent his lifetime exploring smallmouth rivers and lakes. He fished over 400 rivers and hundreds of lakes in the u.S., Canada, and South Africa—more than any known angler– and researched many more outdoor destinations.
A full-time outdoor writer and smallmouth fishing guide for 20 years, he focused his writing on smallmouth bass, fly fishing, river angling and fisheries conservation. His most recent books, River Smallmouth Fishing and 103 Smallmouth Secrets for Fly Fishers, are widely regarded as the definitive sources of information on smallmouth biology, fishing techniques and destinations in North America.
